1998:  ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill, Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, Ramones singer Joey Ramone, Megadeth singer & guitarist Dave Mustaine and Joe Walsh made cameo appearances on The Drew Carey Show.

 

1993:  George Harrison and David Crosby made guest appearances on the season premiere of The Simpsons’ fifth season, which featured Homer Simpson in a barbershop quartet that made several references to The Beatles throughout the episode.

 

1989:  Neil Young was the musical guest on the fifteenth season premiere of Saturday Night Live.  Young performed Rockin’ in the Free World, The Needle and the Damage Done and No More.

 

1988:  Van Halen kicked off the second leg of their tour in support on OU812 at the Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY.

 

1987:  At the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles, Roy Orbison filmed a television special A Black and White Night and was joined by special guests such as Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt and K.D. Lang.

 

1977:  Foghat performed a benefit concert at the Palladium in New York City to help the New York Public Library but a collection of rare blues albums for its Rodgers and Hammerstein Archives of Recorded Sound.

 

1974:  Sound technician Jay Sloatman got into a brawl with roadies for Lynyrd Skynyrd during a concert in Louisville, KY.  The roadies believed that Sloatman deliberately cut the sound during the band’s set and said that Sloatman attacked them when he was asked to leave.

 

1971:  Yes performed their first concert in with Rick Wakeman as their keyboardist at the De Monfront Hall in Leicester, U.K.
