1998: Miramax Films acquired the rights to The Beatles’ movie A Hard Day’s Night. They re-released it in theatres in 2000 & on a collector’s edition dvd in 2002.

1988: Pete Drake, Nashville-based record producer & pedal steel guitarist who played on albums for Bob Dylan, George Harrison, & Ringo Starr died in Nashville. He was 55 years old.

1974: Neil Peart joined Rush, replacing John Rutsey who left the band due to health problems.

Mama Cass Elliot of The Mamas & The Papas died in London of a heart attack shortly after she performed two sold out concerts at the London Palladium.

1973: Led Zeppelin lost $180,000 in cash when a thief stole their hotel safe deposit box from two concerts at Madison Square Garden.

1966: Bob Dylan was involved in a motorcycle accident in Woodstock, NY in which he suffered a concussion & broken neck vertebrae. He disappeared from the public eye for the next 18 months after this accident.

1965: The Beatles’ second movie Help! premiered in London at the Pavilion Theatre.
