1999: Eddie Vedder joined Pete Townshend onstage at New York’s Supper Club during Townshend’s concert for Magic Bus, I’m One & Better Man.

1995: Jimi Hendrix’s father Al Hendrix regained control of his son’s estate which includes the rights to Jimi’s name, likeness, image & music.

1973: Approximately 600,000 people attended the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen in New York. The headliners of this concert were The Allman Brothers, The Band & The Grateful Dead.

1957: Jerry Lee Lewis made his television debut on the Steve Allen Show performing Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On. Sales of this single jumped immediately.

1956: Gene Vincent made his television debut on the Perry Como Show performing his top 10 hit Be-Bop-A-Lula.
