1996: John Panozzo, drummer for Styx died of gastrointestinal hemorrhaging after a long bout of cirrhosis of the liver. He was 47 years old.

1993: Guns N’ Roses have a case of drug possession against them thrown out by a Buenos Aires judge when the “drugs” turn out to be vitamins.

1992: The Charlie Watts Quintet walked off the set of Late Night with David Letterman after a disagreement with the show’s producer.

1981: Harry Chapin was killed when a tractor-trailer rear-ended his car on the New York Expressway, which caused his gas tank to explode. He was 38 years old.

1966: Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce & Eric Clapton formed Cream.
