1991: Van Halen went to number one on the Billboard 200 for the third time when For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge debuted at the top spot and spent the next 3 weeks there.

1978: Former New York Police Academy Cadet Eddie Mahoney legally changed his name to Eddie Money.

1977: At a Pink Floyd concert in Montreal at Olympic Stadium, Roger Waters got so angry at a fan that was climbing the mesh that separated the crowd from the band, he spit on him. This incident would lay the groundwork for Pink Floyd’s next album, The Wall.

1971: Louis Armstrong died of a heart attack after playing the Waldorf Astoria’s Empire Room in New York. He was 69 years old.

1964: The first movie starring The Beatles, A Hard Day’s Night premiered at the London Pavilion.
