2000: At a Metallica concert at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD, 21 year old Martin Muscheet fell 80 feet to his death.

1992: John Phillips from The Mamas and The Papas underwent a liver transplant after years of abusing alcohol.

1987: In the Soviet Union, the Doobie Brothers, Santana, James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt performed at The July Fourth Disarmament Festival.

1984: In Miami, FL, Ringo Starr joined The Beach Boys onstage to sing Back in the USSR and play drums on Fun, Fun, Fun.

1982: Ozzy Osbourne married his manager Sharon Arden in Maui. Ozzy would later state he chose July 4th to get married so he would remember the date.
