2005: Four Tops singer Renaldo “Obie” Benson died from lung cancer in a Detroit hospital. He was 69 years old.

2002: Six postage stamps designed by Paul McCartney went on sale on the Isle of Man to raise money for his anti-landmines charity.

1995: Legendary disk jockey & television host Wolfman Jack died of a heart attack at his home in Belvidere, North Carolina at 57 years old.

1981: Rushton Moreve, original bassist of Steppenwolf died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was 32 years old.

1956: Elvis Presley appeared on the Steve Allen Show. He participated in several comedy sketches & sang Hound Dog to a Bassett hound.
