2005: Ted Nugent reached an agreement with Karen Gutowski of Dover, NH to
pay $3,500 a month in child support. Nugent fathered a son with her in 1994
while married to his second wife Shemane, with whom he remains married to
this day.
2002: U2 guitarist The Edge married longtime girlfriend Morleigh Steinberg
in France. Steinberg was the belly dancer & choreographer for U2’s Zoo TV
tour.
1992: Nirvana singer & guitarist Kurt Cobain was rushed to a hospital after
a concert at King’s Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Cobain was allegedly
suffering from acute stomach pains brought on by ulcers.
1990: Billy Joel began a two night stand at Yankee Stadium which drew over
103,000 people. Joel was the first rock act to perform at Yankee Stadium.
1985: Bryan Adams reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for
the first time with “Heaven” which spent two weeks on top of the chart.
1984: Aerosmith kicked off their reunion tour with Joe Perry and Brad
Whitford back as their guitarists at the Capitol Theatre in Concord, NH. The
58 date tour was called the Back in the Saddle Tour.
1981: Mark David Chapman pled guilty to the charge of murdering John Lennon
on December 8, 1980. He would later receive a sentence of 20 years to life
in prison.
1975: Eric Clapton joined the Rolling Stones onstage at Madison Square
Garden in New York City to jam on “Sympathy for the Devil”.
1968: The Jeff Beck Group, featuring Rod Stewart as lead singer made their
first U.S. appearance at New York’s Fillmore East. Stewart had such bad
stage fright that he spent the entirety of the first song behind a large
speaker cabinet.
