2000: Spinal Tap performed on the short-lived VH1 show The List with a new drummer to promote the re-release of This Is Spinal Tap on video. Their drummer for this appearance was none other than Mick Fleetwood.

1985: Bryan Adams went to number one on Billboard’s singles chart for the first time with Heaven.

1981: Mark David Chapman pleaded guilty to the charge of murdering John Lennon on December 8, 1980. He would later receive a sentence of 20 years to life in prison.

1975: Eric Clapton joined the Rolling Stones onstage at Madison Square Garden in New York City to jam on Sympathy for the Devil.

1968: The Jeff Beck Group, featuring Rod Stewart as lead singer made their first U.S. appearance at New York’s Fillmore East.
