2006: The BBC announced their flagship music program will be cancelled after 42 years on the air.

2004: Paul McCartney performed his 3,000th concert since first performing with the Quarrymen at the Palace Square in St. Petersburg, Russia.

1987: Boston made their first live appearance in eight years, headlining the Texxas Jam in Dallas on a bill that also included Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Poison & Tesla.

1986: The Prince’s Trust Concert was held at Wembley Stadium in London featuring Paul McCartney, Elton John, Tina Turner, Dire Straits, Bryan Adams & Phil Collins.

1973: Taping of the 20th anniversary show of American Bandstand took place. Among those who appeared included Neil Diamond, Little Richard, Three Dog Night, Cheech & Chong & Paul Revere & the Raiders.
