2005: Pink Floyd announced that they would perform at the Live 8 concert in London with Roger Waters for the first time since 1981.

2000: During the first night of a twelve night stand at Madison Square Garden, Bruce Springsteen’s performance of American Skin, a song about the shooting of an unarmed West African man by four white New York City plainclothes police officers, was met with mixed reactions.

1999: It was reported that Oasis had paid Gary Glitter $340,000 as an out-of-court settlement after being accused of using one of Glitter’s lyrics in their song Hello.

1989: The Elvis Presley Autoland Museum at Graceland. This museum contained over 20 cars which were owned by Presley.

1966: The Dave Clark Five made their record breaking twelfth appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. The band later made six more appearances, a record for a British band.
