2002: Paul McCartney married Heather Mills. Guests included Ringo Starr, David Gilmour & Chrissie Hynde. The couple would file for divorce four years later.

1988: At Wembley Stadium in London, a birthday tribute concert to Nelson Mandela took place. Some of the acts on the bill included Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Dire Straits, & Stevie Wonder.

1983: Alex Van Halen married Valerie Kendall in Los Angeles. Alex’s brother Eddie was the best man. The couple filed for divorce one year later.

1979: Chuck Berry pleaded guilty to income tax evasion. He would be sentenced to four months in prison.

1976: Rush began a three night stand at Massey Hall in Toronto. These three shows were recorded for what became the band’s first live album, All The World’s A Stage.
