2003: Paul McCartney & Yoko Ono resolve a dispute over songwriting credits. McCartney angered fans when he demanded that songs such as Yesterday & other McCartney songs be credited to McCartney-Lennon, as opposed to Lennon-McCartney.

1989: Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman married his 19 year old girlfriend Mandy Smith. The marriage would last 17 months.

1987: A sold-out Billy Idol concert set to take place at Madison Square Garden was canceled after it was discovered that asbestos-removal work was taking place.

1972: Dion and the Belmonts reunited for an oldies concert at Madison Square Garden. This concert would be released as a live album the following year.

1967: David Bowie released his self-titled debut album. While the album would earn positive reviews from critics, it didn’t do well commercially.

1964: The Rolling Stones play their first American concert in Lynn, Massachusetts.
