1999: Skeletal remains of former Iron Butterfly bassist Philip Kramer are found in a valley near Malibu, CA. The bassist had been missing since February 12, 1995.

1997: Jeff Buckley drowned after taking a swim in the Mississippi River. His body was discovered by a passenger on a tourist riverboat on June 4th.

1989: John Cipollina, guitarist of Quicksilver Messenger Service died of chronic emphysema.

1977: Elvis Presley walked off stage in the middle of a concert at the Civic Center in Baltimore, MD. This is the first time Presley ended a show in this matter.

1972: Paul McCartney released his interpretation of the nursery rhyme Mary Had a Little Lamb as a single in response to the BBC banning his last single Give Ireland Back to the Irish.

1959: Ray Charles, B.B. King & Jimmy Reed perform in front of an estimated crowd of 9,000 at Herndon Stadium in Atlanta, GA in one of rock’s first outdoor festivals.
