2005: Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor is awarded $3 million in damages after winning his fraud suit against former manager John Malm.

1999: Rush becomes the first rock band to receive a star on the Canadian Walk of Fame in Toronto.

1987: At a U2 concert in Rome, the sound system is so loud that neighbors call emergency services claiming an earthquake struck.

1977: The Sex Pistols single God Save the Queen is released in the U.K. Over 100,000 copies were sold & peaked at number two on the U.K. charts despite being banned by the BBC.

Declan McManus made his live debut as Elvis Costello at the Nashville in London.

1957: Buddy Holly and the Crickets release their That’ll Be the Day, their only number one song in the U.K. In the U.S. the song would peak at number three.
