2006: No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani & Bush front man Gavin Rossdale became parents when their son Kingston is born.

2000: Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee begins a five day jail sentence for violating his parole. He was charged with violating his parole by drinking alcohol.

1994: Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie marries Michael Jackson in the Dominican Republic.

1972: Mott the Hoople, on the verge of splitting up were offered two new songs by David Bowie, Suffragette City & All the Young Dudes. They would record All the Young Dudes, which would be their commercial breakthrough.

1971: Don McLean records American Pie, which would later reach number one on Billboard’s hot 100 singles chart.

1969: John Lennon & Yoko Ono begin an eight day bed-in in room 1742 of The Hotel La Reine in Montreal, Canada to promote world peace.
