2006: The surviving members of Led Zeppelin received the Polar Music Prize in Stockholm, Sweden, where they recorded their final record In Through the Out Door.

1990: Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason married Annette Lynton at London’s Chelsea Registry Office. This would be Mason’s second marriage.

1987: The Doobie Brothers reunite for a Vietnam veterans benefit concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

1979: The Who’s film biography The Kids Are Alright premiered in New York City.

Tom Petty filed for bankruptcy after MCA buys his label ABC Records.

1977: Jefferson Starship intended to perform a free concert in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, but authorities prohibit the concert due to a ban on electronic instruments.
