2007: Queen guitarist Brian May was placed on a 24-hour security watch after a schizophrenic man announced his intentions to murder him.

2004: KISS’ Gene Simmons causes controversy with the Australian Muslim community after saying that the Islamic culture is “vile” in a radio interview in Melbourne. Simmons would later state that his comment was taken out of context.

1985: Bruce Springsteen marries actress Julianne Phillips in Lake Oswego, OR. The couple divorced March 1, 1989.

1977: Linda Ronstadt denies a report that she was offered $1 million to appear in a Hustler photo spread.

1971: Grace Slick crashes her Mercedes in San Francisco, canceling scheduled recording sessions for Jefferson Airplane’s next album.
