2004: Ex-Guns N’ Roses members Slash & Duff McKagen sue Axl Rose for $1 million, alleging that Rose turned down multiple offers to use GNR music on movie soundtracks without consulting them.

1995: John Fogerty is awarded $1.35 million by a San Francisco judge after winning a copyright lawsuit.

1992: Baltimore gives Kiss the keys to the city & declares Kiss Day.

1987: Paul Butterfield dies of a heart attack, brought on by years of drug & alcohol abuse.

1970: Four students were killed & eleven were wounded at Kent State University in Kent, OH by the National Guard during an anti-Vietnam protest. This incident would inspire Neil Young to write & record Ohio the next day with Crosby, Stills & Nash.

1956: Gene Vincent recorded Be-Bop-a-Lula.
