1994: The Rolling Stones sail a boat down the Hudson River to announce the launch of their latest North American tour in support of Voodoo Lounge.

1991: Texas Governor Ann Richards declares ZZ Top Day.

1976: Wings kick off the Wings Over America tour in Fort Worth, Texas. This would be Paul McCartney’s first American concert appearance in nearly 10 years.

1971: Grand Funk Railroad held a press conference at New York’s Gotham Hotel, where only six reporters show up, despite the band’s success at the time.

Led Zeppelin play Four Sticks live for the only time in their career in Copenhagen, Denmark.

1969: Jimi Hendrix is arrested on drug charges at Toronto International Airport. He’s later released after posting $10,000 bail.
