2006: Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour topped the U.K. Album Chart with his third solo album On an Island.

2003: The Chinese government ordered The Rolling Stones not to perform Beast of Burden, Brown Sugar, Honky Tonk Women & Let’s Spend the Night Together during their concerts scheduled there the following month, which were later cancelled due to the SARS outbreak.

Elvis Costello filled in for David Letterman as host of The Late Show after Letterman fell ill.

1994: Pat Benatar gave birth to her second child with her guitarist/husband Neil Giraldo, a daughter named Hana Juliana.

1983: U2 reached the top of the U.K. Album Chart for the first time with War which spent one week at number one.

1975: Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson married his longtime girlfriend Charlene. They are still married to this day.

1974: An intoxicated John Lennon & Harry Nilsson were thrown out of the Troubadour Club in Los Angeles after disrupting a performance by comedian Tom Smothers.

1969: Paul McCartney married Linda Eastman at the Marylebone Registry Office in London. None of the other Beatles attended the ceremony.
