2004: Paul McCartney’s net worth was estimated by the U.K.’s The Mail on Sunday to be $1.3 billion, more than Mick Jagger, Elton John & Madonna’s fortunes combined.

2002: The Osbournes reality show, featuring Ozzy Osbourne & his family premiered on MTV. During its first season, it was cited as the most watched program ever on MTV.

2001: Kiss singer & guitarist Paul Stanley was served divorce papers from his wife of nine years Pamela Bowen Stanley, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce.

1994: Jefferson Airplane singer Grace Slick was arrested outside of her home in Tiburon, CA for waving a shotgun at police after police arrived to investigate a domestic dispute. Slick was sentenced to 200 hours of community service & ordered to attend four Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week for three straight months.

1975: Rod Stewart met Swedish model and actress Britt Ekland at a party in Los Angeles thrown by Joni Mitchell.

1974: Gregg Allman’s debut solo album Laid Back released the previous year was certified gold by the RIAA

1971: During a concert in Belfast, Led Zeppelin performed Stairway to Heaven, Rock and Roll, Black Dog & Going to California live for the first time.
